About
Our Team (SASU) is made up of men and women of all ages 18+, whether or not they have been involved with Scouting or Guiding before, a team member becomes a member of Scouting and a valued member of the Belchamps Team.
All members of Belchamps Team join because they wish to give some of their time to Scouting – this can be as much or as little as they like, in a wide variety of activities. The Belchamps Team also has its own social and activity program and welcomes new members and shows appreciation to its members.
Why Join?
- To run most of the activities you would need to hold certain nationally recognized qualifications for which appropriate training is given. There is no cost for any of the training.
- There is something for everyone, some great training, permits and invitations to team meets and camps
- Not just a Staff Polo (quite cool) but the chance to earn the coveted Belchamps SASU Scarf (very cool!)
Joining Our Campsite Service Team
Please note that membership of any SASU (Scout Active Support Unit) such as the Belchamps Team, brings with it a responsibility to assure the safety, so some training is expected if not part of any scouting role.
Membership of the Team (Belchamps SASU) makes it nessasery to have or complete a Scouting DBS and some training that must be completed within five months of joining. The Training consists of Module 1 (“Essential Information”), GDPR training, online safety, safeguarding training, and scout first response first aid. Most can training, be completed online but first aid is a day course.
Don’t let training put you off (its very easy and we can support and are very happy to do so) we would love to hear from you, email the Belchamps Team : info@belchamps.org.uk or speak to any member of staff.
