Q: Centre Emergency Number?

A: 01702 746463 (This number bounces between the Duty Mobile and the Centre Manager and is Strictly for Emergency use only.

Q: Am I allowed to bring my pet dog?

A:  Unfortunately pets are not permitted on the campsite.

Q: Does the shop sell souvenirs?

A: The shop stocks a large range of souvenirs, sweets and Scout products including uniform. For the shop opening times please click here.

Q: Are deposits refundable?

A: Unfortunately deposits are not refundable, please see our terms and conditions for further information.

Q: We want a day trip off-site, what is there to do in the local area?

A: There is an airsoft arena, bowling alley and swimming pool within walking distance.  You can also walk to the local train station and go sight-seeing in London or visit Adventure Island and the beaches at Southend.  Adventure Island tickets can be bought in the campsite shop. 

Q: Are members of the general public allowed to camp at Belchamps?

A: Unfortunately we are not a public campsite. However, we do run some events which are open to the general public. Call Guest Services on 01702 842684 for more information.

Q: We want to book a camp for our group or add activities to our booking, what is the best way to do this?

A: Call Guest Services on 01702 842684 or email info@belchamps.org.uk and they will be able to help you with your inquiry.

Q: Does the site have a noise curfew?

A: 10.30pm to 7.00am is our quiet time.  Please respect other campsite users and our neighbors and keep noise to an absolute minimum. 

Q: Where is Belchamps Scout Centre?

We are in South East Essex, in the town of Hockley, we are a short walk from Hockley Wood great for an afternoon hike and maybe some Geocaching? Cherry Orchard Jubilee Country Park is even bigger and suitable for hiking (See Location and Site Map Page)

Q: Can we have a fire at Belchamps?

A: Yes, fire blocks are on most sites and we also have altar fires available. No trench or ground fires, please.

Q: I have a drone and would like to fly it at Belchamps

A: Sorry, we do not allow drones to fly on site

Q: Can I Volunteer at Belchamps?

A: Our Activities, shops, events, and site maintainance are mostly done by our amazing volunteers. We welcome you to join the team. email: volunteer@belchamps.org.uk
